Terms of Service.

Clarifyed.ai is a whiteboard tutor for students, and a product of Teenage Works Private Limited. These terms cover how you and we agree to use it. We've kept the language plain - if anything is unclear, write to hello@clarifyed.ai and a real human will reply.

00Who we are

"Clarifyed", "Clarifyed.ai", "we", "us", and "our" all mean Teenage Works Private Limited, a company incorporated in India. Clarifyed.ai is the whiteboard tutor product we operate; "the service" means Clarifyed.ai together with any related features we provide.

01Accepting the terms

By creating an account or using Clarifyed.ai, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy below. If you don't agree, please don't use the product.

If you're under 18, your parent or guardian must read and agree on your behalf. Their email is the legal contact for your account.

02Who can use Clarifyed

You're at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for online services in your country).
If you're under 18, a parent or guardian has consented and is the account holder of record.
You can form a binding contract - or your parent has done so for you.
You're not on a sanctions list and aren't using the service from a country embargoed by India, the US, the EU, or the UK.

03Your account

Keep your login credentials private. You're responsible for activity on your account. If you spot anything suspicious, email hello@clarifyed.ai right away and we'll lock things down with you.

04Acceptable use

Clarifyed is a learning tool. We trust you to use it as one. You agree not to:

Use Clarifyed to cheat on a graded exam, certification, or interview where AI assistance is prohibited.
Try to extract the underlying model weights, prompts, or training data.
Probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service.
Upload content that's unlawful, abusive, sexual involving minors, or that you don't have rights to.
Resell, sublicense, or repackage Clarifyed without our written permission.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or remove your account. We'd rather have a conversation first - but for serious abuse (especially anything endangering a minor), we'll act immediately and may notify the relevant authorities.

05About AI tutoring

Clarifyed uses large language models, custom retrieval pipelines, and a verification layer trained against real exam syllabi. We work hard to be accurate, but no AI is perfect.

Do not rely on Clarifyed for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. For graded coursework, treat its output the same way you'd treat a study partner's: verify, attribute appropriately, and follow your school's policies.

06Content & IP

Your content stays yours. Notes, problems, photos, and messages you share with the tutor belong to you. You give us a limited license to process them strictly to deliver the service to you (and, where you've opted in, to improve our models).

Our content stays ours. The Clarifyed name, logo, whiteboard interface, tutor characters, and underlying software belong to Teenage Works Pvt. Ltd. You may not copy or republish them without permission.

Generated lessons. Lesson PDFs, explanations, and corrections produced inside your session are yours to keep, share with parents and teachers, and build on.

07Subscriptions & payments

The free tier is generous and never expires. Paid plans unlock richer modalities (on-demand video, longer sessions, more PDFs).

Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from your account settings - no phone calls, no dark patterns.
Refunds are issued at our discretion for unused service in the current billing period; just write to us.
Taxes are billed where required by law.

08Termination

You can close your account at any time from settings or by emailing hello@clarifyed.ai. We'll delete your personal data within 30 days, except where law requires us to keep it longer.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially break these terms. Where the situation allows, we'll give you notice and a chance to fix it first.

09Disclaimers & liability

Clarifyed is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer where those rights cannot be waived.

10Changes to these terms

We update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect, and you'll see a notice when you next sign in. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new version.

These terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of India. All disputes, claims, and proceedings arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of Clarifyed.ai will always be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. By using Clarifyed.ai you irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts and waive any objection to that forum.

Privacy Policy.

We built Clarifyed for students, often minors. That comes with a duty: collect less, lock down what we keep, and never sell anyone's data. This is the long version. The short version: your learning is yours.

00Data controller

Teenage Works Private Limited is the data controller for personal data processed via Clarifyed.ai.

For privacy questions, data subject requests, or grievances, write to hello@clarifyed.ai. Under India's DPDP Act we will respond within statutory timelines.

01What we collect

Account info - name, email, age range, school (optional), and a parent's email if you're under 18.
Learning data - your handwriting on the whiteboard, problems you ask, the tutor's responses, the knowledge graph it builds for you.
Messages - anything you send the tutor over Discord, Telegram, or WhatsApp once you've connected those channels.
Device info - browser, OS, screen size, and rough region (from IP) for diagnostics.
Payment info - handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We see the last four digits and the country, never the full card number.

02How we use it

To run sessions, draw on the whiteboard, and remember what you've covered.
To send you (and your parent, if applicable) lesson PDFs and progress reports.
To improve Clarifyed - usually with aggregated, de-identified data. You can opt out of all model-training use in settings.
To keep the service safe - detect abuse, debug crashes, prevent fraud.
To contact you about your account. We don't do marketing email without your explicit opt-in.

We do not sell your data. Ever. We don't share it with advertisers and we don't use it to train models that aren't ours.

We do share limited data with vetted service providers who help run Clarifyed - cloud hosting, payments, error monitoring, customer support. They're bound by contracts that match this policy.

We may disclose data when legally required (a valid court order, a real safety emergency). When we can, we'll tell you first.

04Minors & parental consent

If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must give consent before you can use Clarifyed. Parents can:

See every lesson PDF and the full knowledge graph at any time.
Pause or delete the account, immediately and without questions.
Request a full data export by emailing hello@clarifyed.ai.

We comply with COPPA (US), GDPR-K (EU), and India's DPDP Act provisions for minors. We do not show ads, do not run behavioral profiling, and do not allow third-party trackers in the student experience.

05Data retention

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. When you close it, we delete personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated stats may be kept longer for product analytics. Backups roll off within 90 days.

06Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

Access - get a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correct - fix anything that's wrong.
Delete - close your account and erase your data.
Export - download your knowledge graph and lesson PDFs in a portable format.
Object / restrict - opt out of training-data use, or pause processing.

07Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Production access is gated by hardware keys and SSO. We run regular third-party security reviews. No system is unbreakable - if we ever have a breach that affects you, we'll tell you within 72 hours of confirmation.

08Cookies & analytics

We use a small set of first-party cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We use privacy-respecting analytics (no third-party trackers, no ad networks, no fingerprinting). You can clear cookies anytime from your browser without losing your account.

09International transfers

Clarifyed is operated from India and the United States. If you're using it from elsewhere, your data may be transferred to those countries. We use Standard Contractual Clauses (or equivalent) where required by EU and UK law.

10Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced by email and inside the app at least 14 days in advance. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the live version.
